Vionlabs App is your portal for editorial and creative tools, including AI curation, smart lists, recipes, and asset management.

First-time users: You'll receive an invitation email to set up your account. Once logged in, you'll see your organization's catalogs.
1.2 How do I switch between catalogs?
Your catalog access depends on your user role:
- Members typically see only their default catalog
- Admins can manage multiple catalogs
Data and Syncing
2.1 When does my catalog update with new data?
Catalogs sync nightly. We're working on real-time syncing.
Sync timing: Large catalogs (e.g., 140k assets) can take several minutes to sync
Missing data? If you notice outdated information, missing assets, or tags, contact support to request a manual sync.
2.2 What does "Asset Not Found" mean?
This error typically occurs when:
- Data is still syncing
- There's a temporary inconsistency in the system
- Processing of the asset has failed
How to resolve:
- Refresh the page
- Wait for the nightly sync to complete
- Use global search to verify if the asset exists in your catalog
If the issue persists (especially for similarity lists or specific titles), contact support as it may relate to API versions or data migration.
3. AI Curation and Smart Lists
3.1 Why is the AI Curation button disabled?
AI Curation requires:
- Fingerprint+/Metadata enrichment v11.6 or above for auto curation
- Title retrieval v3 or above for query prompt
- A large enough catalogue so that the AI can cluster the lists into coherent categories (+100 titles for initial results)
3.2 Why am I not getting results from AI-generated smart lists (auto generation)?
Possible reasons:
- You have a new catalogue and list generation has not yet run (happens once per day)
- Not enough titles in the catalogue to form good lists
- You have not upgraded to the required FP+ version (11.6 or above)

3.3 Why am I not getting results from AI-generated smart lists (prompt generation)?
- You have not upgraded to the required FP+ version (11.6 or above)
- You have not activated the latest version of Title-retrieval (v3 or above)
- The query is not matching any titles in your catalogue

- Try a generic/basic query like “action movies” to verify that functionality is active
3.4 Why can't I create a recipe for a list?
The "Start Test" button requires episodes or movies in your smart list. Series-only lists won't work for recipes. This will be available soon
Common issues:
- Empty dropdowns: Refresh the page or check that episodes are properly linked to seasons
- Locked fields: Some fields (like descriptions) cannot be edited. Create a new recipe if you need to modify these elements
4. Content and Metadata
4.1 Why is my series or season missing a synopsis?
Synopses are automatically generated from episode data and require at least 3 episodes per series or season.
Troubleshooting:
- Check episode counts in the details page
- If synopses appear inconsistent or randomly missing - try refreshing.
4.2 Why are episodes in the wrong season or missing from my series?
This typically stems from data ingestion issues, such as non-unique season IDs across series.
We've fixed this for most catalogs by auto-generating unique IDs. If you still see orphaned episodes or incorrect hierarchies:
- Contact support for re-syncing or validation
- Going forward: Ensure season IDs are unique during ingestion
4.3 What about duplicate episodes?
Duplicates can appear when content is ingested with the same series/season/episode numbers but different inventory IDs (e.g., dubbed versions).
We don't automatically block duplicates as they may be intentional. However:
- Use unique IDs during ingestion to prevent clutter
- If duplicates cause UI issues (e.g., 100+ identical episodes), contact us for cleanup
4.4 Why am I not getting similar titles for seasons or episodes
We have aligned similar calculations with real world use-cases, which is to show it on a Title level i.e. series and movies.
5. Media and Visuals
5.1 Why are posters or thumbnails missing?
Posters come from your provided URLs or our global reconciliations sources (e.g., TMDB/IMDB).
To ensure proper display:
- Verify URLs are valid
- Use English-language sources (we prioritize English content)
Thumbnails and preview clips require processing. Check the status in your asset's details page.
5.2 Why won't videos play/thumbnails load in Creative Lab?
Common causes include:
- Format or MIME type incompatibility
- No CORS permissions to the bucket where the videos are stored to allow the portal URL to access the videos for playback
Troubleshooting:
- Refresh the page
- Ensure videos are in compatible formats (MP4 recommended)
- Ensure the proper CORS permissions are assigned to the bucket
